The 4th St Mess Around
03:45
|
|||
Oh, that Fourth Street mess around
Originated down in Memphis town
Go down Fourth until you get to Vance, ask anybody about that brand new dance
The gals will say you’re going my way it’s right here for you
here’s your only chance
Then ease down Vance until you get to Main
Turn around, beat it back again
It makes no difference where you were born, the jug band has got your water on
While they’re playing that Fourth Street mess around
Chorus:
Somebody tell me, what makes this jug band drink?
Somebody tell me, what makes this jug band drink?
They get you whipping these blues, and they begin to think
About that Fourth Street mess around
Originated by that jug band from Memphis town
Go down Fourth until you get to Vance, ask anybody about that brand new dance
The gals will say You’re going my way, it’s right here for you, here’s your only chance
Then ease down Vance until you get to Main
Turn around, beat it back again
Excuse us, stranger, for being bold this morn, but would you knock the jug band another drink of corn
While we play that Fourth Street mess around
Here we come all drunk again
Ooh ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh ooh

After You've Gone
02:23
|
|||
After you've gone and left me crying
After you've gone, there's no denying
You'll feel blue, you'll feel sad
You'll miss the dearest pal you've ever had
There'll come a time, now don't forget it
There'll come a time, when you'll regret it
Some day when you'll grow lonely
Your heart will break like mine and you'll want me only
After you've gone, after you've gone away
After I'm gone, after we break up
After I'm gone, you're gonna wake up
You will find you were blind
To let somebody come and change your mind
After the years we've been together
Thought joy and tears, all kinds of weather
Someday blue and downhearted
You'll long to be with me right back where you started
After I'm gone, after I'm gone away
You will find you were blind
To let somebody come and change your mind
Someday blue and downhearted
You'll long to be with me right back where you started
After I'm gone, after I'm gone away
You'll feel blue and you'll feel sad
You'll miss the dearest pal you've ever had
Someday when you'll grown lonely
Your heart will break like mine and you'll want me only
After you've gone, after you've gone away

Alabama Jubilee
03:31
|
|||
You ought to see Deacon Jones
When he rattles the bones,
Ol' Parson Brown dancein' 'roun like a clown,
Ol' Aunt Jemima who is past eighty three,
Shoutin' "I'm full o' pep!
Watch yo' step!, watch yo' step!
One legged Joe danced aroun' on his toe,
Threw away his crutch and hollered, "let 'er go!"
Oh, honey, hail! hail! the gang's all here
For the Alabama jubilee

Everybody Loves My Baby
03:37
|
|||
Everybody loves my baby,
But my baby don't love nobody but me.
Nobody but me.
Everybody wants my baby,
But my baby don't want nobody but me
That's plain to see.
Shes my Loving baby,
I'm her Loving Man,
It'll be that kind of loving like no other can
Everybody loves my baby,
But my baby don't love nobody but me.
Nobody but me.
Everybody they love my baby,
But my baby don't love nobody but me.
Nobody but me.
Everybody they want my baby,
But my baby don't want nobody but me
That's plain to see.
Now when my baby kisses me
she kiss me on my cheek
I just leave them kisses be
Don't wash my cheek for a week
Everybody they love my baby,
But my baby don't love nobody but me.
Nobody but me.
Everybody loves my baby,
But my baby don't love nobody but me.
Nobody but me.
Everybody wants my baby,
But my baby don't want nobody but me
That's plain to see.
I am his little pumpkin and he is my lovin' man,
So everybody loves an everybody wants
So I love him the best I can.
Everybody loves my baby,
But my baby don't love nobody but me.
Nobody but me

My Four Reasons
02:45
|
|||
“Get together!”
“Four Reasons!”
You know I hate a gal who’s full of “No”, hits the junk and uses joe
Why that’s one of my four reasons
Who rolls her own below her knees, and flirts with those who she please
Why that’s two of my four reasons
And when she uses garlic, eats Limburger cheese
Why I get a weakness down below my knees
Now folks I told you this, I told you that, my mind’s at ease
Why that’s all of my four reasons
Skating
That’s all of my four reasons

The Slick Skillet Serenaders New Orleans, Louisiana
We are a New Orleans based Pre World War II Era Ragtime, Blues, Jazz Band, with a touch of vaudeville jokes and antics.
Our instrumentation changes, but our love for the music stays the same, as well as our dedication to putting on a great show.
We have a great love and appreciation for the music of the 20's and 30's and the showmanship in witch they were preformed.
